Kinesio-Boxing / Kinesio-Arts Training Program

Craig Marks developed his Vestibulo-Boxing / Kinesio-Arts Training Program © (KATP) in 1994. This program is trademarked and copyrighted with the United States Library of Congress and incorporates physical therapy, kinesiology, martial arts and personal fitness training in one program to create a unique functional training program.   Craig developed this program to provide personal training, physical therapy and fitness consultations to athletes, healthy individuals and individuals living with neurological illnesses such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis and ALS,  to enhance their physical fitness level, strength, balance, flexibility  and activities of daily living.

In 1994, Craig’s father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.  To help his father, Craig began studying alternative therapeutic methods for treating Parkinson’s and other neurological illnesses and soon became a certified movement and balance specialist. His unique approach to rehabilitation helped lead to the development of the now nationally and internationally recognized KATP. This unique program helped improve his father’s overall strength, functional mobility and cognitive skills to a level that not only surprised Craig and his family, but also  his father’s physicians.  Craig then began offering this program to healthy individuals and athletes and the results were incredible.  Some of his current and former clients participating in KATP include professional, collegiate, high school and Olympic athletes.

Now, over sixteen years in the making, KATP has become a tremendous success and is in high demand. The improvement rate for the participants over the past 16 years has been remarkable, at nearly 75%. Craig and his program has gained much attention in the national and internatioonal media along with  the entire Parkinson’s community.

In July of 2008, Kristy Krueger of Channel 10 Local News in South Florida made a visit to Craig’s training studio. With Kristy’s help and support, Craig’s program has gained local, national and international media attention.

Craig’s unique program has been featured on The Michael J Fox Foundation along with hundreds of other media outlets and web sites throughout the United States and Europe. His program has also been recognized by former United States Attorney General Janet Reno.

Craig works closely with the neurology department at The Cleveland Clinic in Weston Florida and Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines.   He is also involved with fundraising for research dollars and receives many referrals from several neurological physicians throughout South Florida.
